While academic papers published by our combined colleagues in 2000 and 2007 indicate that many combined graduates gravitate to one discipline or another, our graduates tend to buck this trend by focusing their efforts on a professional practice that integrates psychiatry and family medicine. To date 75% of our graduates are in combined practice. Many choose to practice in underserved settings, some in the most rural an under-resourced areas of the country. Others have found work in solo private practice or with large HMOs like Kaiser. We're proud to see our hope of preparing doctors who can create the kind of professional environment that is suited to them.
